you know all thai movie budget is under 1mil USD, compare to american made movies which most budget are 10mil and higher and movie such as pirates of the carribean budget hit over 150 millions USD...well you see where im going. the good movies cant be made because of no money, and the movie that can be made hav bad storyline. they got some decent drama movie but those get over look most of the time. still looking for that balance between budget and story telling i guess.

My problems with Thai movies has nothing to do with Budgets. There are plenty of decent action movies and kung fu movies made under very tight budgets. A bad story and dialouge have nothing to do with budget.

I still prefer Tony Jaa to Steven 'Lard Ass' Segal any day.

It's a different culture..a different sense of humour (that doesn't always translate well). Thai films are no worse than Chinese martial arts films of the seventies like The Big Boss and Fist of Fury. Badly dubbed with inappropriate voices...but brilliant martial arts.

Don't get me wrong I can't stand Steven Segal either and I love the martial arts involved in both this and The Protector, but those weren't enough to keep me enjoying the movies. I get the different culture stuff, but Thai movies seem to be the only ones I cannot enjoy. I love old cheesy Chinese martial arts movies and would rank them as far superior to the Thai movies.
