Where's the DVD?

It's great that a few people in Utah got to see this. When can everyone else?

I just noticed a poster at our theater yesterday stating limited release Aug. 15th. Living in Chicagoland I'm sure we'll have a few showings. Hopefully this film will the the attention it deserves.

It opens here in Atlanta this Friday. I wouldn't expect it to be out on DVD until late fall.

I'm looking forward to seeing this. Great to see it's getting good buzz and reviews.

This seems interesting. I can only hope Chicago gets this film for a while.

You can watch it for free on google video.

Its playing here in Ahwatukee Arizona Live With Warren Buffet, Pete Peterson & Dave Walker

It's playing in (gasp!) Omaha, Nebraska - started last night or Wed. night

The DVD is coming out October 21st. Hopefully it'll include the panel event (which was shown live after the premiere that I saw last night) with Buffett, Peterson and Walker.

As for the movie, I hear it's in 400 theaters nationwide starting today. Check out your listings, it's def. worth checking out if only to be completely disturbed by our government's spending and country's future.

Also worth noting is the book, coming out Sept. 29th, which includes complete interviews with all of the heavy hitters in the movie. Should be pretty awesome. Here's the book page: http://www.amazon.com/I-O-U-S-Addison-Wiggin/dp/0470222778/

What is your source on that DVD release date?

Its only playing in 13 cities this weekend.

reply

Hey there... just for those who asked about the DVD... I happen to work closely with the group that created the film... and I'm writing a sales letter right now that's preparing to give away the book and DVD free, as part of a special bundle.

Meanwhile, this means that the DVD is about to be publicly released... comes out next Wednesday. Definitely a timely "must-see" film for right now, both because of the current financial crisis and because of the impending election day.

Any update on this? For those who are not in the US of A, we would prefer to just buy the DVD in order to see the movie.

You mentioned it would be released next Wednesday, which would have been October 22nd. I don't see anything mentioned about a DVD release on the main web site.

Can you provide an updated release date on when we can expect to make purchases?

Thanks.

THERE IS ALREADY A UK R2 DVD OUT !

It's playing at the 42nd Street Regal 13 in NYC... it's also playing in some theater downtown. I'll probably go see it tomorrow. You can just type it into moviefone and they'll tell you where it's playing.

It's still playing in Toronto, Canada... just went to see it. Suffered from being a few months out-of-date (considering the still-unfolding financial mess), and from bending over backwards to be 'non-partisan'... you can tell it wanted to lay more blame at the feet of Bush and Greenspan, but stopped short. But hey I can live with that.. the filmmakers probably don't want to alienate too many viewers, since the problem affects all Americans. Though judging from these message boards, ya can't please everyone.

I went in expecting a mostly-boring explanation of the nature and scope of the issue, and that's what I got. I wish there had been more specifics (like, what do you mean by recommending "reform" of Social Security and Medicare?). Again, maybe it was timid for fear of looking partisan or something.

Overall, recommended.
