Does anyone have any idea what that man with the gun was saying?

I imagine he was trying to tell them to leave and once anyone had contact with the vines, to just stay on the temple or they would be killed. But does anyone have any idea about the actual dialog to not only the main cast of characters but to the boy who got hit with the vines as well? I want to know exactly what the conversation was.

No one knows?

I don't know, because I don't speak Spanish, and I think the people guarding the vines didn't even speak Spanish, but that boy was pretty much dead.

No they're supposed to speak a Mayan dialect.

Nope, can't tell. In the book it was said they were Mayans (or their descendants, anyway), so maybe it was meant to be a dialect.

(But weren't they in Mexico? Isn't that supposed to be Aztec, not Mayan?)

You might very well think that. I couldn't possibly comment.

reply

There are still Mayans in southeastern Mexico.

It really sucks that no one has any clue what he was saying.

Apparently, the Mayan presence on IMDB is limited. But hang in there, one of these days someone will turn up!

I really want to know.
