There is nothing quite like this film, but "Deliverance" has that us vs. them feel in a rugged natural setting.
shareFrozen - also includes Shawn Ashmore on one of the lead roles.
shareI second this; Frozen is awesome. Way better than this movie.
Hip-hop is basically the struggle to bring beverages to your mouth.
How about an episode in Stephen King's Creepshow? His house was overgrowing with green algae (and subsequently his own body had the algae) until finally he had to kill himself.

It is really strange no one mentioned THE HILLS HAVE EYES. Great movie and it appears to have a similar plot as The Ruins (which I'm still planning on seeing).
There is a classic and a rerun. Also, there is a The Hills Have Eyes 2 which, in my opinion, was still good (for this genre, specially).

No it's not as THHE has very little in common with this film apart from a group of people in peril in a remote location. And that could apply to any number of teen horror flicks.
Good list. I kind of liked Cabin Fever.
shareThe whole time I was watching this, I was thinking "this is JUST like The Raft" - it was one of the segments in Creepshow 2.
I thought this movie was great by the way, one of the better horror movies I've seen recently (along with The Descent). I guess it helps too that I'm a carnivorous plant fan.

I would say "Congo" is very similar to this. I like the book of "Congo", but I thought the movie pretty much sucked...
