I'd like to find out if Joseph Otero Shafer has recovered fully from his accident. If anyone in the family reads the board, I'm not looking for any details, don't want to invade anyone's privacy, but could you please post a general idea of how he is? Thank you.
Hey ghostie, thought I'd let you know that Joe has and is improving since the accident in 2005. He may have some perminent brain damage, but we never say never. The docs. told us that he may not make it from the first night and he did they also said that he may never wake from the coma, but he did! He is now walking, talking and even working at a sheltered workshop for people with disabilities. His short term memory is damaged, but he does remember some things. He may never be able to be on his own, but we can hope and pray, as we have done on this long journey.
