At the World Wide Movie Awards, Dance of the Dragon won the Award for Best Asian Movie.

It was among the nominations with:

- 100 (Philippines)
- Hai Jiao Qi Hao (Taiwan)
- Meotjin Haru (South Korea)
- Joheunnom Nabbeunnom Isanghannom (South Korea)
- Okuribito (Japan)
- Ramchand Pakistani (Pakistan)
- Jiong Nan Hai (Taiwan)

I would say some stiff competition!

Indeed, but the other films were not aired in as many countries as Dance of the Dragon. So it is understandable that Dance of the the Dragon would win the award.
