Had Sarah Brightman been the lead instead of Alexa Vega and Paris Hilton

Would this film have made more money?

The film is called Repo! The Genetic Opera for a reason (It's a modern version of The Rocky Picture Horror Show, and an adaptation of a play), and the only two who had a real voice in this film were Anthony Stewart Head, and Sarah Brightman. Alexa Vega sounded like a brat (I'm not referring to her character) in this film. Another one who deserves credit here is Paul Sorvino as Rotti Largo, and Sarah Power as Marni. This film could have been so much more!

I doubt it. Sarah Brightman is a fantastic gothic opera singer, but she has more of a cult status. I actually thought Alexa Vega's performances were strong, and despite Paris Hilton's weaker performance and skimming over the fact that she was basically not acting; i.e. Playing herself: a spoiled, rich slut, she was actually a big selling point due to her fifteen minutes of fame at the time. Paul Sorvino is actually the hugest selling point in my opinion, being a seasoned actor with an amazing opera voice.

As much as I love her (she's the reason I ever got into this movie in the first place), Paris Hilton was definitely not one of the leads. She wasn't in the movie too much and her biggest song/scene got cut (Come Up and Try My New Parts). I always saw Sarah Brightman as more of a lead character than Paris.
