This Movie Rocks and Sucks at the Same Time

Too gothy and angsty and tries too hard to be a cult film (i remember reading it was marketed as a "cult film" while it was still in the cinemas and rolled my eyes)
but at the same time
I like the songs, the costumes and sets are fun, and it's generally a fun fun movie... but a guilty pleasure
probably gonna show my bf but not sure if he'll like... Paris Hilton was my favorite part XD my friend and I were going to be Blind Mag and Amber Sweet for costumes one year

though... I think I should show him the original producers instead as it is in my top favorite films anyways.

Does it?

I made it through the first four songs and had to shut it off.

Not because it was that bad, but because I figured I could find something
more worthwhile to watch.

Perhaps I will go back and finish the thing.

I wish they didn't do the "Cult Classic" thing so soon, If they wanted to make this a Cult Classic they should have waited a couple of years to start a buzz...

I agree. Cult status has to happen on its own. They flat-out marketed this as a cult film.

I still love it, though. Excellent film, minus "Mark It Up."

It was marketed as a cult film, because the original stage play was a cult hit phenomena. Much like Rocky Horror.

Both of these, Rocky and Repo, started the same way. As a theatrical presentation that became a huge success on the scene, and due to that success became an indy movie.

I just watched this movie for the first time, and I kind of agree with you, except for the Paris Hilton part (she sucked, but the rest of the film was okay).
