RFF + IBBC = Bad guys? Are we sure?

People seem to assume that the bank is in the wrong by supplying the Revolutionary Freedom Front with weapons and funding. But the RFF is fighting for "national liberation and the restoration of nationhood"... seems to me they are the good guys here.

As he explains in the news report, Charles Motumba is trying to open a new chapter in The Democratic Republic of Niberia's history. He points out the people of his country have suffered greatly under the old regime. So the bank is just helping the good guys win.

If Charles Motumba told you to jump off a cliff, would you do it?

Interesting but flawed observation. Banks have no ideology whatsoever, just "interests". They couldn't care less about who's ruling "x" or "y" country or the fact if they are "liberators" or "opressors". Corporations, and banks in particular, are pragmatic institutions. If there's a juicy profit, they even would loan money to the devil himself.

Clionauta is absolutely right...Banks dont care if they are good or bad. All they want, as the Chairman of the bank says is "gratitute of a powerful friend"...which means he was actually looking for power...In the event that the General staged a coup, the bank would have political power...The bank was anyway playing with the money of the public...

That's exactly how Idi Amin got into power, and look what happened in Uganda. There are numerous example of genocidal dictators coming into power with poplar support and then destroying the country and its people.

More to the point: even if the RFF is good, it says nothing about whether the IBBC is or is not good. Just because they support one good cause does not mean they always or only support good causes.

Remember that the revolutionary freedom front didn't had any money.
