agreed. Visually stunning and an interesting perspective to the soul of a young monarch. I loved it.

ABSOLUTELY, the most ROMANTIC MOVIE I have seen in
a very, very long time. I have seen it 3 times now
so I think I need to find and buy the DVD. And I
NEVER by movies.

I loved the film too! It's one of the few films that I am sincerely disappointed has an ending!

I love this film and play it everyday - I love anything about the Royals
and wonder if anyone notices the resemblence of Emily Blunt to the young
Queen Elizabeth 2?

reply

Sorry, but this film was one of the worst i ever saw.

Granted the sets and set decoration as well as the costumes were marvellous but there the good things stop.

The story was told extremely uninspired. There were hops and jumps throughout the film. One short scene of one subject follows another short scene of a different subject follows another short scene of a third subject. That is no storytelling. After the two (Victoria and Albert deceide to get married the ceremony follows. Where have all the fights in the meantime? Not of interest?

The editing is as bad as the score. Emily Blunt - as much as i like her and her acting - is totally forelorn in this set up. I hope she will avoid costume roles for the future.

I am sorry i wanted to like this movie but what was offered was even worse as what usually is put together by untalented students of film.

Avoid and forget.

Aw, shut your mouth, the film wasn't a masterpiece, but it was still lovely and romantic.

I loved this movie, and feel Sarah Ferguson should be commended for the role she played in bringing the story of Queen Victoria to us. One cannot fit QV's full life into a movie, but what has been portrayed is absolutely delightful. Thanks to all who had a hand in this lovely movie.

I liked this movie as well. The acting was good, the storylines were interesting and it went at a decent pace. Often movies go on for too long and this did not.
It was nice to see royals as nice people for a change.

I happened upon it. The music and scenery was transporting, the actors who played Victoria and Albert were so convincing as to how much they loved each other, and hearing Sinead O'Connor over the credits was so moving. The lyrics to that love song theme are perfect, and the music. I was so transported that criticism is beyond me. I did notice criticism of the wardrobe, and do agree, the only really pretty dress she wore was the white with the roses. I found both actors captivating, and Sinead O'Connor's song over the credits, I've sent from YouTube to my niece who's just married, and to a friend who's deeply in love.

I totally agree. It's a beautiful film. The performances by the two main actors were stunning. I actually didn't think it would be this good. Such a lovely surprise.

Me too. Such a sad thing that audience figures suggest it wasn't marketed very well - anywhere. It should have made a lot of money and deserved more general praise and recognition than it got, when released. I only saw it on TV for the first time and ABSOLUTELY loved it, the story, actors, photography, atmosphere, everything. I only wish I could have seen the full extended version. I will have to look for the DVD
