Is this a joke?

Is this movie really going to exist? After seeing Hobgoblins on MST3K, I definitely have to see the sequel, especially if they're really using the previous cast characters. After all, it's been what, about 19~20 years?

I can't tell if this is a joke or not, but there have been other films on imdb.com even more unbelievable that turned out to be real.

On another note, if this is direct to video, how would I purchase a copy of it?

reply

This might exist, but why would people be waiting for a sequel if people said the first one was terrible. I agree.

No, not that action you idiots! The kung-fu thing! -Le Frog

reply

Because some people like really bad movies.

I am one of those people. I have been waiting to see this but I hope they have some topless scenes which is a lot better than what they had 20 or 21 years ago. I mean that movie was a tease in my opinion.

It sure does look like it is going through, and here's something few of us think about: it was likely the exposure by MST3K that helped it along.....I really wonder what it will be like, especially w/ the same characters.
Watching 'hobgoblins' now via MST.

I too cannot believe that this is real....not surprise the thread i was going to start already exists! if really this happens this guy is either, insane, a massively egotistical *beep* or a genius. Oh, and as we know from his own mouth, he is high on crack

It was good with the same characters but I did not like the idea that Rich Sloane altered what the effects of the Hobgoblins are compared to the original movie.

Don't compare it to Critters since that was a professionally shot film with first rate effects by the Chiodo Bros. and Hobgoblins has stick figure type effects that wouldn't pass muster in a school play. They aren't even in the same universe.

I think it is supposed to be joke. I think they are making fun of bad B-movies from the 80's.

They even sang the Hobgoblins MST3K song in the trailer! So it's a parody!

reply

Even though this isn't meant as a serious film, couldn't they at least get someone who could act? Or write or direct for that matter...
This movie is yet another reason I'm all for downloading movies. I would be seriously pissed if I paid to see this steaming turd of a "movie".

reply

Huh, with that logic no movies make money and then they all end up like this.
