make sure your FF button is working

the moment I saw Damian Lewis I knew this movie was going to be a nightmare, he sucks, totally.

anyway, if you still want to watch this crap, follow the subject advise.

I watch about 200 to 250 theatrical released movies a year, so I know there's a ton of crap out there. I have to use the FF button on many movies. (Paul Blart, My Bloody Valentine, Disater Movie)

I'll admit I wasn't going to rent this movie. I hadn't heard of it getting a theatrical release, but I got it anyway. Seemed like the cast would make it worth it, right?...If not I've always got the FF button.

The only thing I used the remote for was to start it over again. This movie was GREAT!!! The ending brought it all together perfectly...and the cast was excellent.

Indeed - if you need to use FF - go watch something by Bruckheimer et al, where my dog could write the dialogue and probably better. This is a lovely little gem, just watched it the 3rd time, I just want to know what the bloody book HE was reading & in the end recommending. Yes, there are some unbelievable elements, BUT being stuck right now with the MOST basic of basic cables, I am often forced to watch movies i would never consider, and these are the "pops" of the movie cinema the ones that makes the $$$, and their stories and dialogue, are so preposterious and derivitive, but then you say a movie like this has unbelieveable elements. I ask u - ever been to prison, ever done any time, shut up...

Ah yes, the obligatory 'you didn't like the movie I did so you must be dumb and love bad movies' response. Not even 5 in before it showed up, impressive viv.

Anyway, I agree more with the OP than you personally. Just because it's slow doesn't mean it's good. The music showed up at completely wrong times, and was so over the top it was laughable. We don't know ANYTHING about these characters beyond their cliches: one is the new prison 'fish', one is the old 'I know everything about this place' type, one is the ruthless prison leader, and one is the prison female. What'd they spend, like 5 minutes writing each character? Lazy is a good word for it.

They didn't develop anyone's character outside of Cox's, and it's a poorer movie because of that fact. This was prison escape cliche 101 in terms of the writing. And the dialogue? The less said about it the better. As I said, slow does not equal development, it can be saying nothing AND be slow - crazy right?

PS: Because i've never been to prison I can't dislike a prison movie? Please pull your head out of whatever dark orifice you have it shoved up before saying something that preposterous again...
