Let's us pretend we are making an unbiased documentary...

I finished this film and it starts off trying to pretend this is an unbiased film. They want weak people to go around saying "This film isn't biased! the filmaker was a fan of Michael Moore when she started the documentary!" Which, it's obvious from the get go of what her intentions are.

There are a few times she exposes some interesting things about Michael Moore, but there are many times when they are digging at the bottom of the barrel to do anything they can to tarnish his image. I won't deny that Moore does mold documentaries to fit his views. Ironically, it's just how these filmmakers did as well. They show how dishonest Moore is, but accidently expose themselves when confronted with the camera at the Democratic convention. Sounds like they were pretty swift at lying. You could say, OH well they were just doing what Michael Moore does to prove a point. Well, then you could also Moore is making up lies to counter all the lies that the Bush Administration have been feeding us. Moore does have a big ego and he does attempt to exaggerate stuff in his films to get people to share his views. The thing is, I agree with the majority of his views, and any awareness towards causes I support are fine with me. Do I like Moore? He's got positive and negative attributes. Do I like Manufacturing Dissent?? No. It was better than other anti-Michael Moore films I have seen, because it had a small tid bit of real information, but the rest was just attempting to tear down Moore's credibility.

I do think Moore should have talked to them. It made Moore look like Roger from Roger and Me, where these small powerless people can't get ahold of the big shot. In a way, Michael Moore is "Roger" in Manufacturing Disseent; and the filmmakers are Michael Moore. Except Michael Moore actually was supporting a moral cause and didn't make a completely lame film.
