just like garden state...

for people who have already seen zach braff's directoral debut - garden state (yes yes, JD from scrubs) would find a stunning similarity between these two movies...of course garden state is much better than fireflies in the garden...or is it??

lol

*spoilers*

in my opinion, one has got nothing to do it with the other, except for the part of each actor's mom death.

although fireflies is not a bad movie, i expected a lot more from it.
in the other hand, garden state is *beep* great (with a *beep* great soundtrack).
they can't be compared.

garden state 10/10
fireflies in the garden 6/10

cheers

Hey, they have more in common than just a dead mom - they both also have the word "garden" in the title! :-)

In Garden State he had some trouble connecting with his dad. They seemed distent, not so much abusive to the point of him resenting his father but just distent. I thought Garden State was more qarky the Fireflies in The Garden, little bit more interesting. Flireflies was more of a drama.

One could argue that the setup is similar, but the conflict is entirely different.

I usually love stories like these but for some reason I couldn't stand Garden State. I found it to be quite shallow, false and conceited.

It's less annoying than Garden State, but almost as poor of a film...

I like Garden State better too.

Well, just another anti-Dad film.Willem Dafoe is worth the time,as is Emily Watson.
However,it just contributes to the corrosive culture and destruction of the family unit.
The filthy language is boring.
