The water actually looks amazing. Probably the best water I've ever seen in a videogame. But really the graphics don't matter. This is a Banjo-Kazooie game. We BK fans don't mind having bad graphics.
And I don't remember them stressing that this is a platformer. I just remember them stressing that this is not a racing game. There will probably be some quests that require you to race someone but there will be lots of others where you will need to design a car that jumps really high or can do flips in the sky or can shoot missiles at certain targets.
Still doesn't make it a platformer game, but really more of a side story in the Banjo-Kazooie series. I mean remember Grunty's Revenge? Or Banjo Pilot?
And did anyone even ask themselves why they didn't call this game Banjo-Threeie!? It's because they're saving the title for when they create the ACTUAL PLATFORMING Banjo-Kazooie title that completes the trilogy.
But then again, if Grunty dies or is COMPLETELY defeated in Nuts and Bolts, and looks like she can never ever return, then I'm probably wrong. Then there probably won't be a Banjo-Threeie.
But that is unlikely. We're counting on you Grunty. Don't die! Cause if you do there might not be a Banjo-Threeie for us to kill you again!!
