Is this in French?

This might sound like a daft question but is much of the dialogue in French? Most of the leads are french and its set in france so I'm wondering if some of it is subtitled. My eyesight sucks so it's sometimes tough to read subtitles at the cinema.

it is originally in French, but has been "professionally" re dubbed like some of the Studio Ghibli animations. i'd rather watch the original version, but have only been able to find it in english. i'm going ahead with the english because it's in 3d, but i will be sad the whole time. :p

reply

It's a french film but the "original" version was made with the english dialogues.
The lip synchro is for english.
But, for an animated film, it's not really important. I've saw it in french, it was quite good.

This explains a lot, I prefer to watch in "native" languages so got this in French... but it was really weird, matched with some very poor English subtitles (auto translated it seemed).

Bad enough that I stopped watching. Will rewatch in English when I get around to it.

reply

The original version has audio as per character. So, French plus some monster.
