anyone familiar with the classical piece of music that plays at the beginning of the trailer?

i don't know, and i'm so frustrated by it because it sounds so incredibly familiar but i can't remember what movie i heard it in. if i remember i'll come back and tell you.

That would be Ralph Vaughn Williams' Fantasia on a Theme by Thomas Tallis. Very nice piece.

Does anyone know that piece which is played during the short swordfight scenes of those various movies?

Found it. It is called 'The Birth and Death of the Day'.
