Everlasting Moments' small moments

For a story whose focus is on the capture of moments in time, it seems fitting that some of the best parts of this film are the small moments that could get lost in the bigger picture. My favorite is the scene where Maria asks the mother of Elsa, the child with Down's Syndrome, if she can photograph Elsa. At first Elsa's mother is surprised anyone would want to take a picture of her child (a photo portrait was a big deal a hundred years ago) but then she's nearly overcome with gratitude and joy that someone would pay her "incapable" child such an honor. The image of the mother's face contorted with emotion in that moment will stay with me a long time. Beautiful.

I loved that scene...it really touched me. The part when Sebastien stopped filming the important historical moment to instead focus on Maria also took my breath away. I think that was one of the most romantic moments I've ever seen in a film.

I completely agree. I just watched it on Netflix and it was an amazing film. The scene that got to me (well, there were many lol) was when Sebastian asked if he could have the photo she took of Ingeborg...and the children outside peering through the window. What a beautiful scene and photo. *sigh*

I loved that too. I wish we had seen Elsa posing for her photo.

I loved the dog, Leo, who barked melancholically whenever his master played violin. Also the children and Maria playing Charlie Chaplin when they return from the film.
