There are NO wolves in the Grand Canyon!

I just rolled my eyes when I saw the trailer... The last wolf in the Grand Canyon was killed in 1942. There are currently efforts to reintroduce them back in the canyon, but their portrayal as vicious hunters of humans in this movie is not going to help the cause.... They don't hunt humans!

Oh, and another thing, you really can't get lost in the canyon for too long, there are so many landmarks and so many people, one should be able to find a trail in no time.

Only accurate thing I saw in the trailer... there ain't no cell phone signals out there... zero bars, folks!

maybe watch the film rather than basing stuff on the trailer

You can get lost in the Grand Canyon if your guide leads you off the beaten path. You would surely die of thirst before being eaten by wolves.

In fact lots of people HAVE gotten lost in the Grand Canyon and died. They weren't on the rim, but in the inner canyon which is EASY to get lost in.

I recommend reading "Over the Edge: Death in the Grand Canyon" to really understand how dangerous the Grand Canyon is and how easy it is to die there.

Both of them should have died. Going off a beaten path, not being where their permit said, not having adequate food/water, trying to scramble up a side wall. Neither would have survived in reality.

I'm thinking they might be metaphores or hallucinations(?)

Ok first off I lived at the Grand Canyon for 22 years. First of depending on where in the Canyon you go, it's pretty damn easy to get lost and for a long time too even for experienced hikers. Yes you can get cell phone service in certain areas in the village depending on what cell company you have and on several of the trails (Bright Angel and South Kaibab) only a short distance into the canyon though maybe 50-100 yards at most at least with the cell phone I had.
About the wolf comments about them not attacking humans this is true but this movie is intended for "entertainment purposes". Just like "The Birds." Yes they are thinking about re-introducing the wolves into the canyon and sure as hell hope they don't. The stupid tourist will find some way to feed them and then the wolves no matter where they are located in the canyon and the wolves will end up just as sick and ugly as the squirrels and deer in the village. Wolves are beautiful creatures and should be respected as and treated as such. With the way 90% of tourist are the wolves won't be treated well at all.

When my dad and I were there over the summer was when we decided to switch from Sprint to AT&T. Sprint could barely get service anywhere we were going, someone with AT&T received a phone call at the 3 mile resthouse on Bright Angel.
