How could it score so high on IMDB?

Are people that stupid now? Well atleast rotten tomatoes got it right like usual.

This movie stinks to high heaven. It is nothing like Napoleon Dynamite and was more like some kind of hallmark channel film. The only thing good about it is that it doesn't have filth and and is an all around positive movie. I can see how some of this could have been funny as a Napoleon Dynamite sequel but it missed the mark big time. The main character is just plain rediculous and nothing here is beleivable and thats the problem. It was one of those films that actually felt low budget and from start to finish leaves you thinking, "is this what it's about, is there anything else to it?". Worst film I have seen since the friday the 13th monstrosity. Even close to meet the spartans standards. Although it did have originality and somewhat of a story line, I would only recommend this to children under 12.

Awkward, uncomfortable and lame, but positively clean childish fun.

If reincarnated,I'd return to Earth as a killer virus to lower population levels.

If you stop comparing it to Napoleon Dynamite you might actually start to enjoy it. The concept of this movie if hilarious, even if it only works for about 61% of the people who were sucked in enough to continue watching it. I honestly enjoyed this movie enough to give it an 8/10, even though I find it completely ignorant and it's not the funniest movie in the world, but it's fun.

If you stop trying to bunch it in and stereotype it with Napoleon Dynamite, I think you might actually "feel" this movie. The music/soundtrack is excellent, the idea is fresh and original, and the acting was pretty good considering the ridiculousness of the film. Just sitting back and thinking how the actors could possibly draw inspiration for this movie makes me smile. When was the last time Transformers made you do that?

Side note: I enjoy the Transformers movies but graded them lower than this film.
