The problem with 'Kaya'

You know this is really unfortunate.

Kaya could have been MTV's Entourage. The show's concept and production values are really good.

Starting the series at this stage in her career just doesn't work here. The brief flashbacks never last long enough to properly establish the characters and background story. All we're left with is a fractured and hurried story line revolving around a bratty imature girl that we could really care less about.

The show is just trying to cover too much territory in a single episode. Where's this all leading to? It would have been much better if they just focused in on one aspect of Kaya's career at a time ala Entourage.

Too bad. I really had high hopes for this one.

I agree. the only reason I watch this show is to put off homework for another half hour after the hills.

Kaya went from being dropped from the label, to doing the talk show stint, to being back on top again over the period of a week.

This show is too forced. I think the age group watching this show would be fine with the band partying and living it up with their newfound fame and not focusing on how 'awful' kaya's life is the entire episode. she's a 21 year old rockstar whose in a band with her best friends and living in a million dollar home with a pool in the living room. sorry, but i would let a major record label tweak my songs for that, and i think most people would.

basically, if kaya was as passionate about her music as she claims, she wouldn't have signed with a label thats tied to britney and christina and she wouldn't be worried about the money. the end.

It's not like it's real.

"you don't have to ask me do I love you
as I hold you it says how much I do"

i don't think i said it was.

im just saying that it seems to be so cliche for artists to join a major label that produces robots who will do everything theyre told and then they wonder why they dont get the freedom their indie label offered.
