Totally, after people tell MTV to bring back some of their scripted shows, they finally do, and it's ripoff, guess what, they're all canadian too, just like everyone instant star. Give you three guesses where it's being filmed. Bring back undressed, Daria, or even Spyder Games, finish the season of spyder games, And I don't mean bring back undressed for like two hour every 8 months, and then don't tell anyone it's coming on at 3 in the morning.

Yeah I noticed that too. I won't be watching, just for that very reason, LOL. Instant Star is an amazing concept for a television show(and the Alexz Johnson is a great singer and actress). I'm surprised MTV didnt' come up with the concept first, especially with American Idol contestants and their issues in the media. Seems like MTV should have been the first to jump on the idea.
I refuse to watch this Kayla crap, LOL. I'll start watching MTV, when they come up with original ideas (the only good thing now is The Hills). I thought BET was the copycat station, but I guess not..lol.

For all of those who think that Kaya's entire cast is Canadian, it isn't...or did California suddenly become part of Canada???? Justin Wilczynski is from Paso Robles which is most def in California.
Besides the guys in Instant Star are not as hot as in Kaya (imo) and Kaya has the whole emotional trauma from the lost sister who's ghost keeps popping up angle. Instant Star has a happy singer/band like in Hanna Montana or something, which doesn't exist in Kaya, which focuses more on the dynamics of a band who finally get noticed after working together for such a long time. So is it a rip off? Heck no.

I never saw Instant Star so I have absolutely nothing to compare it to... but I didn't think it was that bad. It's nice to see something on MTV again besides a reality show. Danielle Savre is freakin' AWESOME!!!

I don't know about the whole cast of Kaya, but Danielle Savre, was born and raised in Simi Valley, which is in California.
I know this because my dad is friends with her dad.
Also, it says on her fansite.
Also, we've only seen one episode. Give it a chance and stop judging by what you saw the first time.
Nah sorry this show sucks like crazy. It doesn't take anymore episodes to know that the quality of acting will get better. Because it won't. Instant Star was here first and the lead character is way more likeable (with a better voice) than Kaya. I hope this show is cancelled very, very soon.
I can't wait for the new season of Instant Star.
When i first saw the previews for this show the first thing the came to mind was "Instant Star". A Total ripoff of "Instant Star".
shareWell what do you expect from MTV? They used to be really original and actually likeable by a very wide audience because of the music they played. Remember the shows MTV played during the 80's and 90's? They were actually cool, but now all that MTV does is give us "unscripted, reality" *beep* and unoriginal crap that they say is real(ex. Laguna Beach, The Hills, and Newport Harbor). MTV really needs to get the music back and not have it play at like 2 AM.
