I've never seen Kaya, but what brought it down?

I know this got recently cancelled after a few episdoes, but I'm wondering why it did. Because I had this idea for a satirical musical sitcom (although Kaya was a drama), and I want to avoid the mistakes that Kaya made that led to its cancellation. Does anyone know what destroyed it?

the problem with kaya is that you felt no real sympathy for her throughout the show.
kaya and her band signed to a major record label, who had ties with britney and christina, and then complained when they didn't have much freedom.. what did they really expect to come from that?
also, kaya is constantly complaining about everything. she's living in a million dollar home, making an album with her best friends/bandmates, and has access to all the major clubs, yet still cant find happiness.
all in all, this show had potential, but they made it so any problems, even HUGE problems, like Kaya getting kicked off the record label and then being put back on it, resolved in a 22 min. period.

Overall, everything happened TOO fast, was TOO much, and TOO dramatic.

Hope that helps.

My problem with it is that I find it terribly misleading.

They sold the show as the life of a rockstar, yet Kaya is anything but. She's just a bratty spoiled inmature little girl. She doesn't seem to care about music or her band.

I've been in different bands all of my life... meaning I've been hanging out with a bunch of guys since my early teens, and I have been able to control my hormones. Kaya just seems to go out with every single member of her band, which makes me think she's just in it for the fame. I understand that she may have had a crush on them at one moment but acting on it? every single time? that's just not caring for the band's stability or chance of survival, but rather just acting like a 15 year old who can't keep her pants on.

...and of course the label thing. Why in the world would you sign on with the same label that handles Christina Aguilera when you claim to be original talented musicians and rockstars who write their own songs only to then complain about the label not giving you enough liberties?

Kaya was never a rockstar, she was just another Avril Lavigne.

Because it was a rip of Instant Star, another horrible TV series of the same premise.
