Upcoming Tintin film?

Why not take away the rights from Spielberg, and give them to Polanski? Then we can have a serious adventure film, for once.

Here is another cartoon I remember watching as a child 40 years ago. I look at the cast, and I'm sure they didn't speak English as well as whomever did it for American TV. If my memory serves, it was on WABC-TV Channel 7 in New York. If anyone does know this, please mention it.

I own the Tintin cartoon "The Black Island" (1962) on VHS. Sony put these Tintin films, from the early 1960's, out on VHS in the 1980's. However, there is no screen credit given to the actors who did the voices in the American released versions of these French-made cartoons. These original Tintin cartoons were much better than the later remakes. The voices in the original films had a more theatrical quality and were highly entertaining. For example, Captain Haddock had a gravelly sea captain's voice in the original cartoons. Also, Tintin had a unique adolescent's voice and the Thompson twins had comical British accents. Even the villains had much more effective and sinister voices. (We've heard the voice of the actor who did most of the villains' voices in these original cartoons in many other cartoons, too. I just don't know his name.) The voices used in the later Tintin remakes were much too subdued and lackluster. True, the remakes adhered closer to Hergé's original plots, but the earlier Tintin films were definitely much more atmospheric, suspensful and enjoyable. I'm going to the Tintinoligists' website to join in on the discussions.
