Borat

Was it just me or was anybody thinking that this movie was trying to copy Borat? I mean Sandler's character does act alot like him at times.

it's like adam sandler's version of borat.

i thought it was surprisingly good though.

You would not be alone in thinking this. And as a half-hearted copy of Borat, it stank.

Again - Zohan was produced in 2000 borat 2006. GYFS

Again - Zohan STARTED being written in 2000, it wasn't filmed until 2007 or so. Obviously way after Borat became famous. This wasn't made in 2000 and not released for 8 years, which is what you're saying.

Written =/= Produced

Acutally I found a lot of similarities with this movie and Cohen's later character movie "The Dictator".

I also thought that there were some parallels to Borat (name, theme: view of the USA from a caricature of a foreigner), but overall it is a very different movie. I found Borat very boring (I fell asleep while watching it), and for the parts where I was awake, I found it miserable and hardly funny. In contrast, this is a feelgood movie (maybe a little too optimistic, but certainly more inspiring than Borat). So it's more like Eddie Murphy's Prince of Zamunda than Borat.
