If Brian is Catholic, he can't be married

Catholic priests aren't allowed to get married. Which means he must be Protestant, but Protestants don't wear collars. Or is there a Protestant denomination that wears collars?

I went to a high school that was as Catholic as you can get and we had a married priest. I don't know all the details, but it was a very special case. So, it is possible, but improbable.

Married Anglican (Episcopal) priests may sometimes convert to Catholicism and remain priests (and married, of course).

A man who is married can become a Priest. It's only those who are currently a Priest who cannot marry.

So, I'm now wondering how long until we see a gay married Catholic Priest...

I dont think he's catholic. in the pilot they refer to him as reverend . catholic priests are referred to as father.

I believe Brian is an Episcopalian priest: they wear collars, they're called priests, and they can marry.

The collars are worn by many Protestant denominations as well as Roman Catholics.

In one of the featurettes on season one it says that Brian was episcopalian.
