What is actually happening in series 8?

Is there any coherent writing on the show anymore? Nothing that is happening seems to go anywhere this series. This last episode was a real low point: the little girl who was trying to acquire alcohol for some unspecified reason, and instead picks up a drunk women to spend the day with. The pointless nail salon. The intervention. Joyce's random undying love interest. Les' laser eye surgery that he wanted to keep secret. The speech in The Neptune that came out of nowhere...

What is this rubbish?

I have to agree with you, I watched the episode this week, but that will be the last. The character Kenneth does my head in and Johnny Vegas is as funny as a funeral. Won't be watching anymore.

This series has been the worst for me.

The new family are awful, and so is that new boy. He's so thick that it's actually not funny.

Johnny Vegas was good in the beginning series of Benidorm, but he just doesn't fit in well now.

Benidorm without the Garvey Family just doesn't work for me.

They really need to consider either bringing back the Garveys and other older characters - or completely scrapping the show altogether now.

I'm still enjoying it but I agree that it's nowhere near as good as it used to be (which admittedly for me is only a month ago as a I was off sick and binged every episode on Netflix and then borrowed a DVD of series seven) but it looks like we're stuff with it for another couple of years as I read the other day that it's been renewed for at least two more series though I imagine that series ten will be the last.

In regards to Joey I can usually see the merit of having any character in a show but with him there's nothing, he was mildly amusing at first but now it's gone to far, even Tyga stated in this weeks episode he doesn't have a clue why he hangs around with him.
Something tells me that pair won't be back the next time round.

As for Kenneth I actually really like him' though that's twice now he's tried to rescue someone being held at gunpoint. Troy's good but Kenneth needs Liam to play off.

Here's a thought, a lot of people are calling for old characters to be brought back so I quite like the idea of Chrystal Hennesy Vass finally giving up on the hotel and flogging it with the new owners turning out to be the Garveys therefore bringing it back to the first series quite nicely.
