It's been confirmed to be the last In This Story Arc, beyond that there's talk of a trilogy of live action films ((Please let them rethink this, as in my opinion the illustration is a huge part of what makes this show great)) but nothing on more cartoons. The creators have said they want to keep working in the avatarverse ((And doubtless Nickelodeon wants them too as well, considering the money it brings in)), so there should be more. We just don't know what it will be.

I heard that season 3 will be when Aang defeats the fire lord, but that they want to continue with the show. I don't know what they will do but they will probably come up with something. They say that Avatar is on its way to being Nickelodeon's Harry Potter.
