Also, has an african american male, minor character in a horror/sci fi/ thriller movie ever survived to the end?

Not only is your ignorance of Hollywood astounding, but you failed to even answer the question you're responding to.

Hasn't anyone seen 'Psycho'???

Saw 5 has a group, and the first person to go was IMO the hottest of the bunch. And she is also white, haha...

Was there anyone in this film that anyone would have recognized other than Melissa Joan Hart? Of course she had to make it to the end! She's pretty much the Julie Benz "Saw 5" character. Ugh, the only thing worse than a "Saw" ripoff is a "Saw 5" ripoff, right? The series was SO far up it's own @$$ by that point. Yeah, let's devote an entire movie to the B-plot of THAT...

The strange part is, this was actually a bit better than Saw 5, mystery-wise. All five characters there were plastic and their story was pretty rushed.

reply

No, the connections in Saw 5 were more direct. I think the story there was better. When they finally figured out the connection in this movie, I was underwhelmed.

Yes, John Terry (the killer) also played Christian Shephard (Jack's father) in LOST.

"This isn't TV, it's real life. Can't you tell the difference?"
"Sure - I just like TV better."

Are you a troll, or have you just never watched any other movies besides this one?

Killing off attractive white girls is absolutely what horror is all about. Ever seen Friday the 13th? Halloween? Texas Chainsaw Massacre? Basically any horror movie ever made? The slasher genre that exploded in the 80s literally could not have existed if this wasn't the case. And Italian horror films in particular (Argento, Fulci, etc) tend to focus even more heavily on the killing of beautiful women, it's kind of their thing. The whole "the black guy always dies first" thing has been a trope that people have been playing with for years now. Deep Blue Sea, for example, kills off the attractive white female protagonist in favor of keeping the black chef (a minor character) alive. Ving Rhames is the only male character to survive until the credits in Dawn of the Dead, if I recall correctly. Same with Ken Foree in the original Dawn of the Dead. And of course, in Night of the Living Dead, the black guy is last member of the cast left alive when the sun rises (not to mention just about the only likable and reliable character in the film). The list goes on, but I'd rather not waste another precious moment assuaging your ridiculous persecution complex.

***SPOILER***

Taye Diggs also survives and gets paid at the end of House on Haunted Hill.

Hey, I guess this makes this a trivia thread. I love those!

reply

This woman was not even remotely attractive. Besides, she gets caught.

Watch the Cabin in the Woods. The hot chick does not survive.

reply

Agreed, the DA was pretty ugly.

Also, in Drag Me to Hell, the female lead dies at the very end of the movie.

Oh puh-LEASE!! Not the race card! I'm so SICK of that!

I'm half a decade late to the party but, how can no one not mention Childs in John Carpenter's, The Thing?
If it bleeds, we can kill it.
