There is still no news about a release date for the series on DVD. There is a DVD out there of the pilot episode only. However, this is not really so unusual. Many other series have been kept out of pre-release notices until days or weeks before the actual release. Take Painkiller Jane, for example: the first news on the DVD set was mid-January, the release date was announced 'officially' mid-February, and the actual release late in March. So, if it was announced this Sunday, without pre-release leakage, it could be available in September. Or, you could contact the Media Owner - "Genius Products" - and ask them...

Genius Products, Inc. Santa Monica
2230 Broadway
Santa Monica, CA 90404
Phone: 310-453-1222
Fax: 310-453-0074
E-Mail: [email protected]

Of note, the fact that Genius Products (The Weinstein Company) owns the rights, indicates that it probably is in work, and when it releases, it will not be exorbitantly overpriced.

Well, that is good news, especially IF you live in Europe, or IF you have the ability to play Region 2 PAL format DVDs. If you live in USA, most likely, you do NOT. I have a system that will play anything, all regions, all formats, all types of encoding, but it is not system one can simply purchase at Wal*Mart.

It is also good news, in that it may indicate that a US version (Region 1 NTSC format and/or BR) may be available soon. But, in times past, I have seen items released in USA long after release in UK, or not at all. So, be aware.

When you say Series, do you mean the British substitute for Season, or has the show been canceled?

reply

starlit its "Run Time: 1012 minutes" wich indicates that its the 21 episodes.

Unfortunatley it looks like its been canceled.

reply

A recent Canadian broadcast had the pilot episode extended to a full two-part episode, with some of the deleted scenes from the US Best Buy DVD release added back in.

Yes. This is an offical release of the series on DVD from the U.K. It has yet to be released in the U.S., though I rather dought that it will, considering the beating this joke of show took from critics and fans alike.

Maybe specifically not yours, but it's not uncommon for WalMart to sell a DVD player that you can tweak slightly to play all regions, such as the Philips players.

I'm hoping that when I eventually jump to Blu-ray, there will be inexpensive models that will play all regions (1-5, A-C), but I'm not holding my breath. Shame that the more consumer friendly format didn't win, but life goes on.

Any word on a blu-ray edition for this show ? :)

A year later, any word on a blu-ray release yet :) ?

reply

Nope. And since it was never, nor will ever be released on DVD in the U.S., combined with the fact that the DVD sales were so poor in the U.K., I wouldn't hold my breath for a Blu-Ray release andreas. Sorry.

The entire series is being released on DVD as a box set on April 4 by Mill Creek Entertainment.
