FLASH GORDON Done Right

Check out DYNAMITE Comic's new Flash Gordon:ZEITGEIST comic- probably one of the Best iterations of FG of all time, they have lifed elements from the 30's comic, 1980 movie, Filmation Cartoon and made one fun package that is a treat for fans.

As a side note- no elements of Mongo 90210 were used in the new comic!

Thoroughly agree. Zeitgeist was absolutely superb. Faultless. As a massive Flash Gordon fan, I would also recommend the recent Alex Raymond Flash Gordon collections. Easy to find on amazon, they are all of Raymond's beautifully made strips collected together in gorgeous collections and well worth the money. On making my way through all three collections so far, it strikes me yet again how far ahead of his time Raymond was in both quality put into his comic strips, and the also in the superb scifi concepts he put forward. Read them followed by a binge on Zeitgeist and it was one fun scifi filled day.

Such a shame this show was made with complete disregard - at least until the forced late season change to a slightly more faithful representation - for the wonderful source material. With how many scifi fans that tuned into the first epeisode hoping for something great, a faithful series putting Raymond's vision onscreen could still be onscreen today.

Hap- what was that totally fake marketer's name- Stilton McCheese? Wasnt that the other one besides Weskarian?

reply

Yup. That was the one. Funny how they're still not posting about how great the show was, eh?

reply

There not posting cause their not getting paid. Just that simple.

reply

True enough, Axton. It really is funny looking back on it how blatant that marketing campaign was. I'd still love to know how they got someone in the imdb admin to delete all negative comments regarding the show.
