I never did figure out why Ethan became crazed about the woman. Was the connection between the car crash flashbacks and the present action ever explained? I guess I missed something. Any explanation would be appreciated.

I guess that makes sense. It sure didn't seem to be very well articulated. Or maybe it was just cut out of the movie.

I was wondering the same thing so I can on this board to ask it. I didn't get it at the beginning and then it showed a little of the girl getting hit by the car as a flashback later on, and I still wasn't quite sure what that meant. I know he is a crazy man but I really didn't even find that flashback necessary. I am sure they could've found a better way to show how he always becomes infatuated with these women.
