I loved the theatrical cut, but this one is just a different film. It is much more serious, much more cruel, and the last 15 minutes are great.

I agree. I loved them both but the last 10 or 15 minutes of The Director's Cut were AWESOME!

i dont think the film is a MASTERPIECE (as in 10/10) or anything but i do think it's quite good, as in 8/10 good ;)
i give both films a 8/10 as there both good in there own ways but i do prefer the ending in the director cut more myself overall but i do miss Kris Kristofferson as he was MUCH better than the replacement voice from Sally Kellerman.
and at times i missed some of the small comedy parts that where in the standard theater version.
I wouldn't go as far as to call it a masterpiece but it's a great movie and much better than the theatrical cut IMO.
