What is this about and why such low ratings?

Some say good some say bad.. WHAT IS IT ABOUT? and why do you feel that way?

It's *beep*

It hasn't got a single original idea of it's own and adds nothing to further the horror genre, zombie genre or survival horror genre.

It takes it's ideas from films like fortress, resident evil, running man, survivor - series 7 and does nothing to improve on them.

Whoever wrote it clearly played the game Smash TV as a child, you can see what they stole from that too.

adds nothing to further the ... genre

However true that is, I kinda enjoyed the movie. I guess I was just in it for some action, not looking for a movie that furthered a genre. And if you're just looking for some cheap entertainment, this movie might do. It did for me.

Goth Zombie

I agree, i enjoyed this movie, as i was was just looking to watch a movie, not looking for a piece of art! There are very few directors who 'further' ANY genres, certainly not the zombie genre, i am happy with a zombie movie if it actually has zombies in it....and this one does, ok, the make up is not the best, but i've seen a lot worse.

Is it good movie or bad one

Oh mother god was that awful, the sound effects were ripped off from the original batman series. I *beep* kid you not. The script was utterly disgusting.

There was no character developement from the start, they were simply, on an island, if you as a viewer are confused. Then *beep* you!

At least that's what I thought the director was trying to say to me.

This is one of the really low budget, worse than basic cable quality movies that is so very, very bad it is actually kind of fun. It felt to me like a really bad 1970's made-for-tv movie with a terrible script full of four letter words. Every plot point was predictable. You didn't care about any of the characters.

It was just fun to see all these boring, worthless actors get eaten by zombies with makeup so bad it looked like a high school zombie play.

Watch on cable. Skip if you have to pay money. Good with beer and pizza.

thanks for the beer and pizza idea
oh and thanks for the review
I'm watching it on Comcast right now

Caught part of it on cable. The description was
"Ten contestants on a remote desert island compete for the chance to win a $50 million prize; however, little do they know, the ultimate prize is staying alive.

Of the part I saw it had plenty of zombies and low budget action.

i just have to say, i'm watching it now...what got me to turn to it is that the cable program description of it starts out by calling it Drivel ...thats harsh...had to see for myself how bad it really is-i guess its about half way over now and it is pretty bad-bad to the point you want to see how this mess ends. I will finish but i will never recommend for anyone else to waste their time unless they just need something on the tv playing in the bckgrnd.

Horrible acting... cheap special effects. Not original. This movie is crap!

I don't believe it to be bad as in, crap. Difficult to watch without laughing is a better description.

I would really have to say the dialog is pretty awful. I mean, who really ACTS that way? There's also a lack of focus of what the director wanted to achieve. "Is this a video game? Is this a survivor parody? Is this a zombie flick? Is this a gameshow?"

It has some redeeming qualities. The video game scoring system is cool at first, but then gets distracting and annoying. And the fight scenes aren't half bad.

That's about it.

If you watch it for the campy, b-movie ridiculousness it's supposed to be, it's great. Very fun flick to watch. Even funny.

If you go into it thinking it will be a serious horror film, you deserve every ounce of disappointment that you get.

This was bad. But I can think of worse movies, anything that starts with "An Uwe Boll Film"......oh yeah and Street Fighter with Van-Damme, Ugh.

"Carol Anne, go into the light"!

WORST ZOMBIE MOVIE I'VE EVER SEEN...and I'm not just exagerrating either...I'm a big horror nut & have seen my share of GREATS and STINKERS...I'd put this one down there with Day Of the Dead 2: Contagium

Dawn of the Dead remake + Survivor (TV show) + Talentless Filmmakers = PILE OF S%#@!!!!

I think most of the folks who've already replied have put it pretty well. It's as if someone bought Adobe Premiere Pro and found a bunch of off-gray greasepaint, got together with a hand-full of his or her college buddies and promised them beer if they spent an afternoon making a movie.

If you watch it after House of the Dead or Bloodrayne though, it may seem fantastic. I watched it as background noise while I checked my e-mail and it was harmless enough. May even be a riot if you've had more than a few and are looking for a really bad movie to MST3K.

That's the thing. This movie never pretended to be more than b-movie dreck. It was fricking hilarious how bad it actually was, and that's OK with me. It was worth a ton of laughs. If I found it in the bargain bin at Wal-Mart, I'd pick it up.
