A great film if...

...you're a fan of people walking around a junk yard doing sod all. I gave this an hour before turning it off, and it got an hour because I was so bored I forgot it was on. I really don't know why some people fund crap like this. Low, low budget films like this are ten a penny, and most of them are crap. The only real success at low budget is Peter Jackson's earlier work which is oscar worthy in comparison to the stuff churned out these days. Hot Rod is badly acted and about as scary as Mother Thereas' benign smile, the acting you can forgive because it is low, low budget, but the the plot, (if there was a plot) showed no sign of development at all. To give some credit though I would say the camera work was ok, and the editing not bad. Might have worked as a short - say 2 mins :\
