MOONLIGHT RERUNS ON THE CW!!!! June 3rd

So, guys, another network has picked up Moonlight for reruns. So we have SyFy, Chiller, and now the CW!

When I read the first article from the 'Moonlight news' section here on IMDB, my face went white and I kept having to re-read the date of the article, to make sure that it did say indeed May 8th, 2010!!! 2010!!! :) I am still in a state of shock because at FIRST I thought it 'picked up' meant that they would be making new episodes... but, this is still good news!

The CW is completely targeted towards TEENAGERS.... and teenagers are infatuated with vampires these days, so putting in Moonlight after The Vampire Diaries is GREAT because so many teens will get the opportunity to tune in! Do you guys think they will start marketing Moonlight through commercials on the CW, especially during airings of The Vampire Diaries?

Thoughts?

****
I AM SO EXCITED!

Good night, and good luck.

This is pretty cool. CW probably bought Moonlight for cheap after Syfy has aired it about 5 times!! I guess they hope they can wring some more cash out of it. I don't know if the teenagers will go for Mick St. John. He always appealed to older women. I hope it picks up some new fans.

It is a tad unfortunate though because wasn't the CW one of the networks rumored to consider picking up the series from CBS since it was a WB show? They didn't, show cancelled and now they get the reruns.

At least O'Laughlin is getting another show (Hawaii Five-O) since Three Rivers is history. I wonder how long a contract he has with CBS and if they're just going to keep putting him in shows hoping to score another hit like Moonlight was to make up for their stupidity. ;-)

I'm disappointed it is Hawaii Five-O though (hey it rhymes!). They're stooping to resurrecting old series or cloaning existing ones (sorry the new NCIS: LA is beyond bad) instead of coming up with something fresher for him. Why do I have a feeling this series won't last long either? :-(

I'm glad they are picking it up. I never got to see Moonlight although I am a fan of Alex O'Loughlin I'm glad I get to watch it. I also watch the vampire diaries, I think it's good they are putting it on after so it can gain more viewers. I'm sure it will appeal to younger women also. I'm 21 if that helps?...

The plot is vampire private detective who saves a girl in 1985, strikes up a relationship with her again in 2007. Slowly a romance blooms. Mick has a cool bromance with fellow vampire Josef who likes the ladies and loves his vamp-hood. Mick has a guilty angst about being a vampire. Nice production values and cool music, vamp stunts. Great chemistry between Mick and his Beth. First couple episodes are a little cheesy but it gets better. Lots of romantic touches in the show, with humor, too.

At first I thought rerunning "Moonlight" after "Vampire Diaries" might be a good thing, because the people who watch that are already into vampires. After seeing how many teen-agers on Twitter were saying how much they didn't like that "new" vampire show, I think they may have missed the mark. It doesn't seem to resonate with the angsty teen sparklepire set. I'll keep watching the reruns, though, and keep wishing some network would get their heads out of their bums and make new eps, though. It never was as good as "Forever Knight" (my first and still greatest vampire love ^^ ), but "Moonlight" is a pretty good little show and I still think it deserves a chance.

TVD itself is not very Twilight like.

Moonlight would never be a favorite of mine cause it's most memorable moments to me are all things Angel/Buffy did first, but I think it could be a good fit with TVD during the Summer.

Even older than that! Much of the story and characters of "Moonlight" clearly take their cue from "Forever Knight", which predates "Buffy" and "Angel" (and also got its start on CBS, where "Moonlight" first aired). So yeah, CBS had essentially the same vampire show twice and screwed it over both times :-( . I guess TV execs don't learn from their mistakes.

CBS seems to be obsessed with Cop shows, they are good at it, NCIS is the only Cop show I"m into, but ti's currently the best show on television.

Mick St. John is going to be the New McGarrity wonder if he can pull it off.

I've seen Angel compared to Forever Night before, I've never seen any of Forever Night however. My main specific comparison to Angel are you was Coraline/Darla, the leads sire coming back a Human and making him lose it. Was there a plot line following that same formula on Forever Night as well.

On FK, Nick's "sire" LaCroix came back after having been burnt to death, similarly to how Coraline did, but at no time was LaCroix ever human. He was just a very old and powerful vampire who both looked out for Nick and made life miserable for him. . . you know, like a real dad ^^ . However, there was an ep where a female vampire from Nick's past (who had been a major chara in the first two seasons, and was amazing-- I don't think that later guest shot ep did her justice) came back as a human. Nick never became human in the series, but that wasn't for lack of trying! Oh, and there was an ep once where he had amnesia and his forgetting he was a vampire allowed him to take on some human traits again. So while the regaining of humanity was played with there, too, it was done in different ways.

I'm not used to Vampires being sired by Vamps of the same gender, especially males.

Sounds like interesting stuff.
