Moonlight was cancelled because it was on CBS

CBS has a certain type of viewers like ABC does. I didn't watch the show when it aired on CBS because I thought it would be another CBS type of show. I watched the pilot last that played on The CW last night and I'm really loving it. I think Moonlight would've been successful had it been on another network like CW or WB. After watching the pilot and knowing the show got cancelled, I'm so bummed :(

I haven't seen the ratings from last night, but if they were good and Hawaii 5-0 gets cancelled, I hope they bring Moonlight back :)

They won't be bringing Moonlight back.

The funny part is that CBS has occasionally produced other series that have aired on other networks. For example, Medium was originally produced by Paramount. Paramount merged with CBS 5 years ago, yet Medium stayed on NBC until this last year.

Just because a series airs on a network doesn't even mean it was produced there.

Yeah, I know. Just like how Ghost Whisperer aired on CBS but is produced by ABC Studios which is why there was talk that ABC might pick it up.

Sad though. I feel guilty for not watching Moonlight when it originally aired on CBS (

Keep watching because it only gets better! Even though it was cancelled it's worth watching the first season, kind of plays like a mini series.

BTW. Moonlight actually got 1.4 million viewers to VD's 1.2 million last night!

Also, yes, if Moonlight was on NBC or ABC it wouldn't have gotten cancelled. But on CBS they demand high ratings. It almost wasn't cancelled anyway but at the last minute they couldn't come to terms on it and it was cancelled.

Wow, those ratings are actually very good since VD was a repeat and ML (also a repeat) got more :) They should bring back the show on CW but have another actor play the main guy!

That's a thought. I always loved Alex in it but I can't see him doing it again. He rocked the role and was visually stunning. Just watching him move around is half the enjoyment in the show, watching his jackets swish back and forth with the kick-out knee strut he has.

They could do another vampire version similar to Moonlight but develop their own characters, an adult version, not the whinny teen stuff.

What would be fun is taking the character of Josef Kostan (since Jason Dohring does not have a job right now) and make a show around his 400 years of forever. :)
