Other shows you liked that were cancelled

Quite a few shows that I've really liked have been cancelled within one or two seasons or squeezed by with a third - Legacy, Magnificent 7, Sons and Daughters, Arrested Development, Roswell, Firefly (I will never ever forgive FOX for killing Firefly!), Freaks and Geeks, Veronica Mars (but I couldn't get into the third season), and My So-Called Life.

Honorable mention - Moonlighting, 1985-89. It lasted five seasons but started hemorrhaging at the beginning of the fourth and died the first episode of the fifth.

You're right it was ended because smg didn't want to be Buffy anymore.

La Femme Nikita- 1997-2001- Best romance and romantic chemistry
between two leads ever.

The Secret Circle- It started out a little slow, but it really picked
up steam and got really good. What do you know, then they cancel it.

reply

Yeah I hate falling in love with shows only to have it get cancelled. :-(

I actually loved the Secret Circle mainly because I love the book series, when I was younger. I would strongly suggest reading them.

I LOVED LFN. Michael and Nikita were awesome in terms of chemistry. The actor who played Michael was great. You never knew if he was being sincere or manipulating her (except at times you knew he must've cared because he didn't always follow Madeline's orders.)

The storylines from show to show were great, but Nikita and Michael's relationship really made the show solid. I have the series on DVD. Thank goodness. :)

Reaper

Las Vegas: I admit this show wasn't as good in its final season as the others, but I think NBC couldn't have given it a short final season. It ended on a freakin' cliffhanger.

Do you like scary movies?
I like the one with the hottie from Party of Five.
Neve Campbell?
Duh.

Hmm I only know:

- Doctor Who - Just kidding.

- Firefly - Probably the best show ever. Sadly it never really had a chance.

- Twin Peaks - Fantastic show, sadly it suffered from different problems.

- Dark Angel - Really hated that this one was cut short. Huge potential and big fun. And I dont even like the main actress much.

- Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles - This was a pretty great show that really should have continued.

- Moonlight - Could have continued, I see no fault in this show, no idea why critics went all rampage on this, IMHO its better than The Vampire Diaries or True Blood.

- Women's Murder Club - This actually was a Laura Harris tv series that didnt made me feel I only watch it because it has her. Sadly only got one season.

- Star Trek: Enterprise - If even Voyager can get seven seasons, why was this cut short ? Especially since, after its initial two seasons have been pretty snoreworthy standard stuff, its season three and four have been awesome. I would have understood if they stopped after season two, but after season four ?!?

- Angel - This show had four rather mellow seasons, but then a fivth that was really fun, with Spike adding an element that was clearly missing before. Sadly thats also the moment the show was ended.

- Stargate: Atlantis - This one ended a bit abruptedly and without warning.

- Futurama - I am fine with five seasons, I just dont get why Simpsons get twentysomething seasons and this one ends after just five.

- Married ... with children - I just dont like how it ends so suddenly, with a completely ordinary episode.

- Veronica Mars - Season 3 was weak and IMHO the show wasnt going anywhere.

- Farscape - The show got more and more silly, so I'm fine with it getting cut short, especially since they wrapped it up very nicely in one final movie.

- The Secret Circle - I mostly feel bad for the good actors on this show, most specifically Phoebe Tonkin, but this show itself was pretty crap. I hope Tonkin gets some other great show or movie soon, especially with her in a more central role, because the main actress of TSC sucked.

- Dollhouse - I'm surprised this one got a second season. Maybe the second season was better, but this just wasnt good old Whedon level, not even remotely.

- Dead like me - I'm surprised it even got a second season, this show was way boring and had an especially uncharismatic main actress. I only watched because of Laura Harris.

I watched Jericho for the first time last weekend on Netflix. It's amazing. I hate it got canceled.

My list.

I was obsessed with Dark Angel. Fox was determined to kill that show.
The Pretender. There are still a lot of unanswered questions.
Kyle XY
Popular
Pushing Daisies
Better off Ted

Veronica Mars would be on my list, but it's getting a movie.

Jericho was fantastic. When it ended, there was a "NUTS" campaign, where the viewers sent palette after palette of peanuts to CBS. After several trailers full of peanuts ended up on their loading docks, they agreed to the 6 ep mini-series to bring closure to the storyline. ...And, in the end, they forwarded the vast majority of the nuts to American troops in Iraq and Afghanistan.

You're going to say it had an ending and didn't get canceled.

They were told it was going to get canceled but FOX was GREAT!

They gave the show an extra season to write a proper ending,

and not kill it with a lot of unanswered questions.

Has that ever happened before?
