Am I the only one getting tired of their destiny crap?!

Watching the series for the first time (watched the first 10 episodes as of yet) and while I find it entertaining and some episode pretty good (although it looks to much like a remake of Angel and not sufficiently original), there is really one thing that is bothering me: Their constant talk about what the universe have plans for, destiny and all that crap! Like their lives were preordained! Destiny, seriously? The universe doesn't give a crap, even if we ignore the fact that "the universe" doesn't have a conciousness to give a crap in the first place!

But am I the only one thinking this is irritating?

Not really, no. A lot of people believe in fate and destiny. Some people worship cows and others think cow taste's great with A1 sauce. Get over it and order a salad if you don't like it.

I'm not one that necessarily believes in destiny or single soul mates etc...but I also don't necessarily believe that everything is as irrelevant as you seem to think either.
Maybe it's all a little more complicated than either extreme belief.

But really,...if you want your fictionalized entertainment to always be 100% grounded in fact and/or reality and to always share your point of view than why watch for entertainment at all?
These are about vampires, eh? No problem there?
If you consider them metaphoric than just try to do that with the rest of it.

Or just stick with documentaries that support you and what you think.
