Funny they couldn't find more British actors for

a quintessentially British story. 

But no funnier than casting the plain-as-a-pikestaff-English Eileen Atkins as the quintessential Southern French Queen of the Courts of Love, Eleanor of Aquitaine (the clue being in the sobriquet).

Anyway, Ridley Scott had clearly no interest either in the traditional Robin Hood stories or in the real history of medieval England; rather he was continuing the indulgence of his own personal concerns (including post-imperialist guilt, anti-clericalism, anti-aristocracy, a woolly Victorian image of chivalry and a thing about lost or otherwise absent fathers) that we saw in Kingdom of Heaven.

Nobody has any interest in the medieval history of England. Your empire is dead, you're a third rate power now. Deal with it.

Well, since God created aggressive intolerant morons we must all accept that they are part of His plan for the world. That still doesn't excuse you for not taking the time to notice what my post was actually about before venting.

reply

Aggressive? Intolerant? You are the moron, my post was none of these things. Britain is the nation of 65 million people that thinks its better off being racist against Poland than one of the more powerful EU states, and can't accept the fact that, but for being supplied with American nuclear missiles, its no more important than Spain these days. Enjoy your racism though, and third rate power status.

Thank you for so concisely proving the accuracy of my description of you.

I'm pretty sure he isn't even from Britain at all. His name means "sinful" in finnish so i would guess he's from Finland. Sorry if i'm wrong... lol.
