Patrik-Ian Polks upcoming projects

His next film, "Blackbird," is set in Hattiesburg and will be filmed here. Production may start early next year, Polk said. The script, an adaptation of a novel by Larry Duplechan, is a coming-of-age story about a gay black high school student.

Polk is also in negotiations to make a movie from a novel by popular author E. Lynn Harris.
