My problems with this movie

1. Unless I missed something, the situation with Dre wasn't explained.

2. Everybody's an adulterer/cheater

3. The two actors who brought the most life to the screen (Baby Gat & Brandy) weren't even regulars

4. The way Wade talked to his mother -- totally unrealistic

5. How everyone made up so easily after all of the cheating

6. The fact that Wade allowed Baby Gat to remain in that house

7. Brandon being attracted to Chance

8. Wade's hair

9. Noah's hair at the wedding

10. Alex's hair

11. Brandon's hair looking like a mini version of Alex's hair

12. How Wade is one step away from a flaming queen now

13. When Noah was dressed like an African dictator/nazi

The movie left me feeling empty. I think Baby Gat and Noah have more chemisry than Wade and Noah.

Those were some really funny points you made and I agree, especially about Noah's hair at the wedding and Chance is my least favorite character so I find it hard to believe anyone would be attracted to him.

I enjoyed the movie, if not just for the thrill of seeing a gay black movie but was pretty underwhelmed while watching it.

I respect what you had to say, valid points, but I really did love the movie. I've seen it 5 time already and see something new each time. I laughed, I teared up. I guess I'm a sucker for a good love story, throw in laughs, good friends, good music and dancing, I'm there. Oh, and don't forget hot gay guys!!! lol

1. I'm sure Dre and Wade either broke up or Dre died in the car accident. In the opening of the film, the ARC speaks about Noah nursing Wade back to health after the accident. For the direction the film went in, there was no need to discuss Dre. It was tied up quickly in the beginning.

2. There has to be a story, right? A story usually needs conflict, and cheating is great conflict. However, this is not the case with this film: And Chance is really the only one who cheated in the film (minus the "drunken" kiss between Ricky and Wade). The film focused more on SGL relationships at various stages. The long-term relationship of Alex and Trey; the mediate relationship of Chance and Eddie; the next-step relationship of Noah and Wade; the revealing of Ricky's feelings about Noah.

3. They were fabulous, just like the rest of the cast. The whole cast worked well together. I admit, though, to having a soft spot for when Baby Gat kicks that door open and breaks into "do the Baby Gat."

4. I think Wade's conversation with his mother was wonderful. He had a chance to say things he's wanted to say for a long time -- especially since he had finally "found himself."

5.This is a Hollywood romance, not you or your friends' life. It's entertainment, and we want to be entertained by things that may not happen so smoothly in real life. If you want realism, call up your friends and paint a television screen around them. If you want to relax, be entertained, and forget about your troubles for a couple of hours, then go see a movie.

6. Wade allowing Baby Gat to stay in his house was out of love for Noah. He knows Noah's career depends on schmoozing Baby Gat. True, Wade's patience ran thin, but deep in his heart he knows Noah's career is important to him, so he didn't do anything silly. Besides, he's punched enough people as is.

7. This is a slight play from the pilot and it felt like Patrik put in this particular storyline as an ode to the pilot that started it all. It also feels like he brought the Chance/Eddie story full circle (Eddie gets slaphappy just like Chance in Season 1). And it's completely possible to be attracted to your educator. Teacher crushes are as common as colds.

8. Oh, come on. He "unbraided" his hair for a change. It was cute. Plus, we got to see Noah braid his hair, which is hella sexy and another ode to Season 1.

9. Okay, you're being difficult for no reason.

10. Whatever.

11. Do you make a living at hating?

12. Wade is still as masculine as ever. Don't confuse him loving Noah and accepting that he loves men as being a "flaming queen." Next to Ricky, Wade has had the most growth as a character. He is a far cry now from the tender thug we saw in Season 1 and the detached, going through the motions heartbroken Wade of Season 2. I like this Wade. He is finally the man he is meant to be.

13. We know Noah's fashion sense is very Carrie-esque, and you know those riding boots were the bizness. Patrik kind of took Noah back to his Season 1 roots, which is my favorite Noah. In the second season, they let too many people get into their heads. Nice to know Patrik just went ahead and did his thing the way he wanted it. This is his creation, after all.

That summed Wade up perfectly!

Hmm... I kinda picked up on this too. Wade and Noah look good together, but they don't really have great chemistry. I mean, it's okay I guess. I don't think the actors that portray Wade and Noah are very good actors though.

You make some very good points in your post. I too thought the original poster of this thread was being a bit too nit picky and difficult. HOWEVER, I must disagree on your number 8 Talking about Wades hair:

"8. Oh, come on. He "unbraided" his hair for a change. It was cute."

Wade's hair wasn't "cute" on ANY level. I'm sorry, but everybody can't rock an Afro. I would even dare to say his hair was the most distracting part of the movie for me. Actor Jenson Atwood should NEVER wear an Afro, on or off screen. His head is simply too big and round for that! When I saw him wearing that Afro...I was like, Oh HELL NAAAAAAWH!!! LOL

"1. Unless I missed something, the situation with Dre wasn't explained."

It was explained very briefly at the beginning. Basically, Wade/Noah got back together after the car wreck. Whether Dre survived though is anyone's guess. Funny because I wondered for a few years how the movie would resolve it and the answer was it didn't.

"2. Everybody's an adulterer/cheater"

Yeah, it seemed like the EASIEST way to create conflict. Stick a bunch of gays in house for a few days and see who gets re-paired with who. What's worse was that Chance and Eddie made up so quickly after his fling with Brandon. I really think it would have been better if they separated for real. That would have been more realistic, at least.

"3. The two actors who brought the most life to the screen (Baby Gat & Brandy) weren't even regulars"

True, but they were the most entertaining during the series.

"4. The way Wade talked to his mother -- totally unrealistic "

Yes, it seemed like a tacked on happy ending. So, in less than a day, the mother learns in the middle of the night her son is gay AND marrying another man at the family home. So, she shows up at the EXACT moment the wedding is about to start and overcomes her homophobia and gives her blessing in less time than it takes to pop microwave popcorn.

"5. How everyone made up so easily after all of the cheating"

Agreed. Oh, you kissed/slept with someone else. It's okay, because I love you. What happens in Martha's Vineyard, stays in Martha's Vineyard.

"6. The fact that Wade allowed Baby Gat to remain in that house"

Well, I could overlook that as it allowed at least someone interesting to be there.

"7. Brandon being attracted to Chance"

Well, lots of students have crushes on their professors, so I could overlook this. What bugged me more was Brandon calling everyone "Mr. so-and-so." What kid today is THAT respectful, c'mon.

"8. Wade's hair"

Agreed. It was distracting.

"9. Noah's hair at the wedding"

It wasn't that bad.

"10. Alex's hair/11. Brandon's hair looking like a mini version of Alex's hair"

Yeah, out of control. What about Ricky's hair? I miss his faux-hawk from season 2.

"12. How Wade is one step away from a flaming queen now ?"

Hmm, I wouldn't say that, but he was more of a DRAMA queen.

"13. When Noah was dressed like an African dictator/nazi "
It was outrageous, kind of like a man dress that Prince would wear.
