I hated this.

Not that the original series was a classic by any means, it was kind of fun. Just saw the DVD of the movie, and it was AWFUL. Noah's Arc never would be accused of having great acting, but it was even worse this time. The dialogue was pretty bad too...and it wasn't even all that sexy! The unrated outtakes on Season 1 DVDs were hotter. And then they brought back the hottest guy...but only showed him on a computer screen putting up with his CR-ZAZY pill-popping husband yet again.

TOTAL disappointment.

Well, your pick for the "hottest" guy is purely subjective and quite debatable, but like someone else said, if you're a fan of the show, you'll love the movie. And the people who have watched and loved this movie didn't come to it for the great acting or wonderful plot and dialogue. They came because they love the characters.

Sister, when I've raised hell, you'll know it!

Yeah, I feel you on the Trey issue, that's what I don't understand is why they gave Trey such a (I mean very!) small part? It seem more like a cameo appearance if anything. Hell! Forget the computer screen, it's as if Alex was talking to a stranger in that scene. Or for that matter the way the producers & writers did this movie, they would have you believe as if though the Trey character never even existed on the show, but is now making a small debut appearance in the movie as the long distance boyfriend of Alex.

I was very dissappointed with the writers the way they did the Trey character for this movie, it just was not right, when Trey was just as much a significant character on the show when it ran. Also the movie was not great, but it was alright.

Just saw the movie for the first time on LOGO tonight. I had watched the series in the past, but hadn't see the film until it premiered on TV. Prior to the movie, I even watched the Noah's Arc marathon to recap the series (which I hadn't seen in a few years). That being said, I was rather disappointed with the film.

Yes, it was nice to see the characters again, but, most of the movie felt forced (and claustrophobic). The entire movie took place in one house? The storylines (or lack thereof) seemed contrived and the dialogue was bad. The series at half-hour was a good pace, but 2 hours seemed so long, especially when most of the movie was just "talking heads" (i.e., characters on-screen who are just talking without action). Problem was, most of the "talk" had nothing to do with the plot but a not so subtle attempt to bring up social issues within the context of the film. The worst was the Brandon character "interviewing" each character on what it was like to be gay. It felt like a documentary at times.

The other storylines were just plain weak: Alex's addiction to caffeine pills (LMAO, did they rip this off from the "very special" episode of "Saved by the Bell"?); Chance and Eddie's marital troubles (boredom on screen is just boring); Ricky's sexual conquests; Noah and Wade's premarital jitters. YAWN.

The Brandon guy was the worst, especially calling each character "Mr. this" and "Mr. that." I get that he was just coming out, but seriously...

The ending felt forced with Wade's mother. In less than 30 seconds, she overcomes her homophobia to embrace her son's lifestyle. MMM, ok? Don't we all wish life could be that simple?

All in all, it served as an adequate end to the series, but it just "okay."

Yeah, after giving it another viewing last night, I agree with you radrobd, this movie version of Noah's Arc was not that good. Like in my earlier comment, didn't like this little cameo appearance (on a damn computer screen at that!) of the Trey character. The way they did the Trey character, it's almost like if they did a big feature film version of the show "Six Feet Under" that's like giving David's boyfriend Keith only 5 mintues appearance on screen in only one scene, when we know damn well he is just as a significant part of the show as David!

Also, yeah I agree with you about Brandon, this character didn't serve no purpose at all in this movie! He was just in the way, just taking up space IMO. Now it would have been different if Brandon was introduce in the series like in the second season or the last few episodes of the show in a storyline about a teen struggling with his sexuality, than maybe I would have accepted him in this movie. But, I agree with you, he became more annoying with this "Mr." stuff more so than anything! Even though they were not regulars, but I would have rather seen Wilson Cruz character or Ricky's store clerk Raphel (damn he was cute, lol!!) in this movie because I found them to be more interesting. I'll just be brutally blunt, the Brandon character didn't fit and they could have left him out period!

Also, about their moms lol!!!! Yeah, speak the truth bro, these writers no damn well a black family is not going to accepted their sexuality in less than 30 damn seconds!!! LMAO!!! I mean, it would have been more believable if they would had played up the drama more intensely by having them go through the shock of it, mother feeling guilty, anger, breakdowns, arguments, crying, screams, shouting matches. *beep* When I think about it? I could have made a better movie than this! Lol!!!

Peace.

this is such a pretentious 'let's make a cut copy paste of all gay movies and then make it with black characters' movie that i had to stop before i completed 30 minutes of this movie.

normally i love the humour that african american character based movies bring to the table, they split you in the middle, this one was so flaky that even snow has more weight.

himbos (if you really want to call em that)do not maketh for a bad script, lazy ass direction, horrible acting and pseudo situations to piece together character profiles that are so bubblegum. its crazy when a producer of the most benign intelligence thinks to spend a single penny in creations like this..calling it a creation is itself giving it way too much credit..

why am i so angry? i want 30 minutes of my life back...
