I shouldn't watch tv movies, especially after I've read (and loved) the book.
It annoyed me when the kids were 18 and they were wearing terrible wigs.
And it annoyed me that everyone but the mother aged. At the end there, the son looked older than the mother.
Those wigs were great! LOLOLOLOL!
yeah the mother really looked 46 at the end. I sure hope I look that young when I'm 46. I wished they could have at least changed the style of her hair to make her appear to age through the years... they did the father, he got more and more grey hair. Those wigs were awful...
shareIt annoyed the absolute crap out of me that the Gretchen Moll character NEVER aged and she kept the SAME EXACT hairstyle for 22 years! I'm not just being picky, it really distracted me. Also, did Gretchen Moll just have a baby when she filmed parts of this or was she pregnant?

yeah i DVRed this and i have to fast forward through the parts where Jamie Spilchuk is wearing that TERRIBLE wig...ugh...it's so gross. And he's such a good looking guy...especially at the end but that wig just...creeps me out.

The way she drank that vodak and everything else she must of done (forget if they ever showed her smoking) you'd think they'd have aged her a little bit.
The one thing I really noticed is the height of Paul and Phoebe. They are supposed to be twins but Phoebe is like a 6 year old next to her 18 (or 20 however long it is supposed to have been) year old brother.
She was a Down's Syndrome child so it's possible that that affected her height.

shareDown's is caused by an extra chromosome. And yes, women tend to be shorter than men. Fraternal twins can look very different, I have several friends who are fraternal twins who barely look related.
To the OP - you just make me happy that people still read books :) TV movies especially tend to not be very true to the source material. I came here to see if people liked the book, since I felt like there was a lot missing in the film. The wigs were absolutely dreadful! :) Looked like they were just sitting on the actors' heads like awful hairy hats ;0)
I don't know what was worse the wigs or that ending!

Because it is Lifetime, I'd imagine the men were much different in the book. Remember, it's the channel that thinks all men are either evil psychopaths or lovable schlubs.

David Henry takes his daughter and lets his wife thing she died, and in the end Caroline Gil is defending him saying he did what he thought was right, or the right thing to do. Juding that on his own sister dying. If you're a man explain the logic. This only proves that men could never be Mothers. I don't know about all (especially a high classed on like Nora) but most Mother's would take on the resoniblity and would have raised Phoebe.
