Norah's fake tears at end?

When Norah is talking with Caroline at the end of movie, tears are running down her cheeks but her eyes are not red at all. It looks like someone has just sprayed some water on her cheeks. Did anyone else notice that?

reply

Yes...and it ruined the movie for me! At the end, I was dying to see more emotion coming from Nora. Such an emotional role to be completely screwed up in that way. Just reminded me that "this is only a movie." I love be so caught up in great acting! Nora's (Gretchen Mol) acting was pitiful!
Emily Watson was amazing, as always!

Gretchen mol was bad damn Emily Watson was better at crying then Gretchen

Emily Watson is in a class of her own, she is just a terrific actress always. Gretchen Mol was okay in the movie, but I think Emily stole the movie with her acting. Dermot Mulroney was fabulous as always-- I just adore him.

I agree Dermot Mulroney is good actor

I actually thought Gretchen was good in this movie. I ended up on her side, she captured my attention. I felt like I was going through everything she was going through. The tears at the end were not that horrible. To me I felt like she was confused. She didn't know whether to be angry at what David did, Happy knowing she found her daughter or depressed knowing the father of her children had died in her house. She was going through a lot and at the end she seemed like she didn't know what she should feel. I would be the same.

I thought Gretchen Mol's reaction in the dark room was gut wrenching! Very, very convincing!

Although I empathized with Norah, I found her annoying until that scene. To me it was the most "gut wrenching".
