WHY Is It Being Cancelled?!
I heard this show started with some pretty high ratings. Why the hell are they cancelling it? This show is one of my favorites I'll be really sad to see it go.=(

Nothing is official yet but chances are very high that it will be canceled. The reason why is that the initially high ratings declined sharply.

The show was hyped up so much, it was almost setup that if it wasn't action packed every week it would lose momentum. I've heard it called the Cuban version of the The GodFather. The Godfather could be considered a very slow moving movie! Its good, but thats how you get to the heart of the story! Shows like CSI and SVU can get away with lots of drama every week - they are police stories that change the plot from week to week. This show can't do that!

Which is strange because it's nothing at all like The Godfather. Alex runs a legitimate business. The Coreleones never really did. Michael was head of the family, his word was law pretty much. Alex is practically anything but. He doesn't seem to get much respect from his family at all.
I'd say it's closer to Dallas. But the big difference I see is that no matter what scheme JR put out there and conflict amongst family members, his family had his back no matter what. When they had to, the family would "circle the wagons" so to speak. Again, the Duques on the other hand seem only to have Alex's back when it's convenient.

Sadly, by the time the writers strike is over, most will simply have given up on the timeslot. I LOVE CANE but I am already tired of reruns and have found other stuff to do for most of my favorite shows timeslots.
I hope to see them in a season 2 BUT with the Samuels man being killed, where can the story go? He was the main rival on the show.

Yeah, I remember. And Genco was the cover for how many illegal activities? I don't think Alex is using Duque Enterprises as a cover for his illegal activities.

All Cane needs is a bit of retooling! They need to go right ahead and turn Ellis into the vixen that I know she's supposed to be. I wouldn't mind even a couple of new characters added such as a rival for Amalia and some other kind of scheming or unsavory male character. The show seems to be a crime-oriented type of nighttime soap. That's fine but they should come up with more WELL-CRAFTED complex stories with lots of dark mystery and intrigue. I think this is all that it needs.
shareI agree that the Samuels daughter would be perfect as the evil replacement of her father. (Look how the actress tore up the screen in Rome - she is dynamite).
