Fabulous film

Fabulous film. I loved this movie. Please do yourself a favor and see it.
Excellent cast. One and all. I like to see Kristen's films.
I am always happy when I do. I like these indie films she does and find them to be treasures.
Films like this don't get seen and it is a crying shame.

I'm very surprised this film did not get a bigger push. I wonder why.
Does anyone know?

MINOR SPOILERS AHEAD

I think it might be because nobody quite knows what to expect from it. I certainly didn't. The first half of the film you don't know anything.

Heck, I couldn't decide if I should be creeped out by Brett or not, given that I had no idea what he actually did that landed him in prison. I really did expect one of them had to be an axe murderer haha.

That's what's great about the film. It's exactly like what you would feel with a bunch of strangers. As the film progresses, you learn more about who they are and it begins to make sense, you start to see them as real people.

At the end of the film, I actually fell in love with the characters, haha. I'm such a friggin' hopeless romantic. :P

It doesn't help that the film is marketed as a "road trip" kind of movie. It's much more than that. Id say it was first and foremost, a romance. And a helluva lot better than some of the usual favorites (say "The Notebook", which I think was just a little bit overrated).

P.S. William Hurt as Brett was awesome in this film.

i watched the film because of eddie redmayne (and was surprised about kristen stewart - didn´t see her before) and i really loved it.

now -: 2 days before today i watched it the 3rd time (or the 4th?) and it still becomes even better and more beautifull with each view to me - it´s really a jewel!

I agree. I was disappointed to see it had no special features and only one thing in the Trivia section.

I agree. Interesting film. Love Southern movies.

Every once in awhile you unexpectedly come across a very nice little film. This was one of those. I had no idea where this road trip was headed, but when it finally got there it turned out to be a very satisfying trip. (Double entendre unintended.) I watched the movie via DVR over three or four sittings. Each time I restarted the movie I asked myself where did they come up with the title? We find out in the end that there was more than "one" yellow handkerchief. It was a nice little touch to a nice little film.

Yeah, it's cool beans, it really is.

I'm not really a fan of Stewart's acting, but I find I generally love the films she's in. Go figure

I'm not weird. I'm limited edition.

I had no idea what to expect from this movie. I purchased the DVD for 4.99 in a convenience store on a whim. I turned out to be completely captivated by the atmosphere of the film and its characters. A love story, particularly in film, is difficult to portray without it seeming maudlin by modern movie standards. The romance between Gordy and Maxine seemed fresh and genuine, and both of the actors really delivered.

The mystery surrounding Brett, though never fully resolved, was equally captivating, and really led to the exploration of a character who could be both detestable and pitiable. Although I'm usually not a William Hurt fan, I thought he was excellent in this role, quiet and pensive with a rather sad look in his eyes.

The cinematography was beautiful, the score was lovely, and I really felt that I was on this trip with this cast of interesting characters. It is the sort of film that feels incredibly atmospheric. I absolutely loved this movie.

I really liked this film. Got it on DvD. A nicely done Indie story that is driven by the characters. Small cast, four people, and they carried the film very nicely.

William Hurt's character was a mixed personality, as happens in real life. But I found myself hoping for him as he was trying to make some positive changes in his ways. Eddie and Kristen were good and it was engaging to see how their characters progressed.
