Could I run on Max Settings?

My set up looks a bit like this:

Intel Core i7 920 (Overclocked to 3.8GHz)
6GB DDR3 RAM
ATI RADEON 4870 1GB (GPU overclocked to 800MHz, Memory Overclocked to 1100MHz).

So... think I could run all on Max settings?

reply

yes definitly
it runs smoothly with me on ATI 4650 HD with 4GB RAM and Intel Core 2 Quad (overclockspeed to 2.4 Ghz) All on High Settings

Youre joking right? You have the absolute best proccesor there is today, and a all-powerful gfx card and you are wondering if you can play it on max...?

Even i can play it on max ( 1680x1050res, winXP, with the XP dx10 mod, and with some tweaks ) with my E6850 cpu, 8800GTX 768mb, and 4GB of RAM. And most of these parts are 2-3 years old.

What can i say especially about the 8800GTX... it is the best gfx card i ever had. Bought it christmas 2006 and it still rips games apart. Never had any card that performed as good as this, for so long.

Seconded on Lothar. I have GeForce 8800 GT and it is by far the best major computer-related purchase I have ever made. I can still max out the graphics settings on any game out there.

But then, it seems that no game has yet made it back to the technical quality of Crysis' graphics, and I can run that with all the graphics settings maxed out except for resolution. One of these days I'll try that SLI thing the kids are doing nowadays, and then I'll never have to buy a graphics card again. :) (J/K).

I have an E8400, a 4870 and 4 GB of DDR2 @ 800MHz. I run the game in Windows 7 x64 DX10 with everything on high and 4x AA. The framerate is pretty good too.

People would say it's all about graphics, but it's probably one of my favourite games of all time. I rate it with Half Life 2 and Contra 4. I could play these 3 games again and again.
