In the first scene, there is no sense in them getting arrested at all!

He explained the situation, she assaulted him, the only thing I see them being arrested for would be taking their possessions back (the ring) but since assault is a much worse crime if they were being arrested for taking back the ring the woman should be arrested for the assault and threats as well.
