getting repetitive and tired

i love al murray, the guy is hilarious.and for the first couple weeks this show was funny.but the guests suck.and now recently he is starting to use jokes that he has already used in his stand up before.
its every week now that they get whichever band is on to sing something by queen, before al murray jumps on stage to finish the song.and does he need to sing 'big bob!' and point that hes in the audience every time?and the 'if we had rules where would we be?'.its a funny line, but not if you repeat it every week.this weeks show aires in about half an hour, and i guarentuee that all the jokes ive mentioned in this post will be on this show again this week.
i really like al murray and i hope this show dosent become too repetitive that it will put people off.and like i said the guests are awful.can ITV not get anyone better?or are they just obsessed with getting people who want to plug their shows on that channell.and if its not current ITV 'stars' as guests they have z list celebrities.buzz aldrin?come on?
al deserves better than this and i wish they would ditch this chat show and either show him live doing stand up or show 'time gentlemen please'

I once punched a guy out for saying that "Hawk the Slayer" was rubbish

it's all part of his act though. He does change the "if we had rules.." part every week.

Buzz Aldrin a Z list celebrity? One of the few people he had who are actually known for doing something worthy of becoming famous for.

I'd rather see more people like Buzz Aldrin and Shane Warne than Abi Titmuss and other 'celebrities'.

Ok, first of all. These "repetitive" jokes as u like to put it are Al Murrays trademarks...u ever heard that word before? ill say it again just incase trademark for further info on the word trademark see this website http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trademark. Secondly...i wouldnt really call Donny Osmond, John Barriman, Louis Walsh, Dennis Waterman, and QUEEN! Z list celebrities. So stop moanin you slaaaaaag

I agree, I could listen to him do the same jokes every week and still find it funny lol But I don't find him repetitive at all, as grantsjohnson said, they are his trademarks. His show was one of the best shows about saturdays and I can't wait for the second series. Even if I didn't know who some of his guests were I still watch it because Al makes it hilarious. I do have some guests I would love to see on his show next series though but it will be great no matter who he has. Hope ITV doesn't make us wait too long for the second series.

I agree with you completely.

I used to love Happy Hour and I didn't mind most of the repetitive jokes and when the new series started the other day I was really excited.

But I groaned as he went through all the same jokes again. I was hoping he would have some fresh material but no, it was the exact same things. And I cringed during his never ending impression of a motorbike and then about halfway through, after he made Ramrod growl and talks about his son he never sees, I turned it off.

He needs to change his material. They may be trademarks, as others have pointed out, but they are just not funny anymore because you already know pretty much everything he is going to say and it's not frsh or funny anymore.

I came to this IMDB page to post about this very subject, so it's nice to find someone who agrees with me.

its 4-2 saying his "repetitive" jokes are brilliant and are his trademarks.
